Charges of active collaboration with the Nazi anti-Semitic program by Dr. Hans Globke, State Secretary and principal aide to Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, were renewed today. Dr. Globke, who wrote the official Nazi Government commentary on the anti-Semitic Nuremberg laws during the war, has been cleared by the Bonn Government, on the grounds that he had actually helped ease the Jewish situation as a legal officer of the Government headed at the time by Adolf Hitler.
At a meeting of the Association for Freedom and Human Dignity, at Frankfurt, a demand for Dr. Globke’s immediate resignation was voiced by one of the principal speakers, Georg Prinz. He contended that “no argument can do away with the fact that Dr. Globke’s commentary on the Nuremberg race laws constituted participation in Nazi crimes. “
The influential weekly newspaper, Der Spiegel, of Hamburg, also demanded Dr. Globke’s resignation today. According to Der Spiegel, it was Dr. Globke who, in 1942, drafted a peace treaty between Hitler Germany and France, stipulating that the Nuremberg race laws be instituted in France. The draft, said the newspaper, provided that France deport “Jews and gypsies. “
