Montefiore Home, the Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews and the New York Guild for Jewish Blind, New York, get $1,000 each, and the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, $500, by the will of Julius Lichtenstein, offered for probate Tuesday, disposing of an estate of $800,000. The testator, who was more than 80 years old, died Thursday of injuries suffered when he was struck by an automobile on June 2.
The sum of $25,000, to be distributed among charities selected by the widow, Mrs. Leah Askin, was left by Samuel Askin, chain clothing store owner, in a will probated Tuesday.
The will of the late Rear Admiral Louis M. Josephthal disposed of personal property worth between $600,000 and $1,000,000. No bequests were made for charity. Ten thousand dollars for an annual trophy for the State Naval Militia to be known as the Josephthal Trophy were provided.
