(Jewish Daily Bulletin)
Much favorable comment by Chicago Jewry has been made as a result of the stand taken by David Labowitch, president of the Covenant club, against the organization’s holding its annual New Year’s Eve celebration on Friday night, December 31.
The house committee of the club has voted unanimously to support the president’s action. Mr. Labowitch, who is also president of Mizpah Temple, declares that he doesn’t feel that a Jewish club should hold any such celebration on the Sabbath. Therefore, the Covenant club of Chicago will have no New Year’s Eve party.
