Rabbi Isaac Weiner of this city is in a serious condition in a Michigan City, Indiana, hospital as a result of an attack on him by three men. The attack is said to have resulted over a heated controversy regarding the establishment of a Kosher Butchers’ union to which Rabbi Weiner objected, and occurred at Union Pier, Michigan.
The assailants, who were arrested here today, were identified by Rabbi Weiner and are being detained on a charge of assault with intent to kill. They are Robert Johnson, Frank Rigel and Mark Keenan.
