For the first time in the history of Chicago Jewry a “Purim Frolic” will be held on Monday, March 13, at the Tel Aviv Kosher Restaurant. The Frolic is being presented by the Pens, Pins and Pots Club of Chicago.
The purpose of the affair, it is explained, is that once during the year, we should “see ourselves as others see us.” The invitations which were sent to a selected group of men and women leaders among Chicago Jews, bear the inscription, “Those who are not blessed with a sense of humor and cannot appreciate a little ‘kibitz’ shall refrain from making reservations.”
H. L. Meites, editor of the “Chicago Jewish Chronicle,” is chairman of the arrangement committee. Other members of the committee are David E. Hirsch, Charles Freeman, Solomon E. Harrison, James B. Loebner, Morris Mason and Joel David Wolfsohn.
