A Chicago woman who let loose a pack of mice which nearly panicked elderly women attending a meeting called by the National Committee Against Nazism and Nazi Criminals was booked for trial here next Tuesday on disorderly conduct charges.
She was identified as a member of a group of 200 Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian emigres calling themselves the “Anti-Bolshevik Action Committee, ” who picketed the anti-Nazi meeting, muttering anti-Jewish imprecations as they marched.
The woman, Mrs. Dagmara Vallens, claimed to represent a Toronto newspaper but could not remember its address when questioned by reporters. She said a “boy friend” had given her the mice and that she did not have time to bring them home. Asked whether she hated Jews, she said “those in there.” A spokesman at Women’s Court said Mrs. Vallens was under psychiatric observation.
