Chief Rabbi of British Empire Honored at Two Receptions in South Africa

British Chief Rabbi Israel Brodie, who is touring the Jewish communities of the British Empire, was honored at two functions here today and last night.

This noon he was officially received at a luncheon reception at City Hall by Mayor Jack Mincer, a Jew. Last night, leaders of South African Jewry tendered a reception in the Chief Rabbi’s honor. Among those who lauded Dr. Brodie’s achievement’s were S. Ettlinger, president of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies; Bernard Gering, Zionist leader; I. Kuper, president of the Union Federation of Synagogues; and others.
