Chief Rabbi Elias Adler died here yesterday at the age of 53 years. Rabbi Adldr’s death followed an operation for gallstones. Rabbi Adler is well-known in America where he visited in 1922 to raise money for Jewish educational institutions in Hungary. He was planning to go to America again this year. Rabbi Adler was educated in the Pressburg Yeshiva and the Seminary in Budapest. He presided over the Rombach Synagogue and was noted throughout Hungary for his oratorical ability. He was the author of several books on rabbinical learning.
