Grand Rabbi Jacob Kaplan today condemned Algerian violence which, he said, constituted a “physical and moral outrage against the human personality, the respect for which forms the basis of civilized society.”
In a statement issued on behalf of the French Rabbinate, Rabbi Kaplan said “no durable solution can be found by force and violence.” Rabbi Kaplan’s home was damaged last month when followers of the OAS, the Algerian -French right-wing underground organization, planted a bomb in his building.
