The Jews of Palestine in their Rosh Hashansh prayers will think of President Roosevelt and of American Jewry, Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog declared today in a New Year’s message to the Jews of America.

Addressing himself to “my American Brethren,” the Chief Rabbi of Palestine said in his message: “From the Holy City of Jerusalem I tender my heartfelt blessings for the New Year. Americans all aglow with noble enthusiasm for America’s historic effort to salvage democracy and to rescue true civilization think at the same time of Zion, so dear to every true Jewish heart as the haven of refuge for the distressed of our severely tried, sorely afflicted people, as Israel’s spiritual, national and cultural center and home. Pray with all the fervor of your Jewish hearts and your Jewish souls for a speedy triumph of freedom and democracy which will pave the way to ultimate fulfillment of Micah’s and Isaiah’s prophecies. In our Rosh Hashanah prayers we will think of you and of America in general, and of her noble-hearted high minded President.”
