President Gabriel Gonzales Videla has issued a directive granting the Santiago ORT School the status of a public school, it was announced today.
The ruling authorizes the ORT Industrial School to issue diplomas giving its graduates the rights enjoyed by graduates of public vocational schools. The announcement was made at the opening of an ORT exhibition, at which Minister of Education Alejandro Rios Valdivia, representing the Chilean President, stressed the importance of vocational training for Jewish youth and praised the work of ORT.
