Prof. Alexander Lipschuetz, well-known German Jewish cancer specialist who emigrated to Chile in 1926, has been appointed director of the Institute for Scientific Research, a Government agency connected with the Chilean Ministry of Health. He will continue his cancer research and study health conditions in Chile.
At the same time, the Government announced that it will appoint a well-known Jewish pediatrician to study the high rate of child mortality in Chile and recommended measures to counteract the causes.
