General Ibanez, President of Chile, today received Henry Shoshkes, HIAS representative, and discussed with him the immigration situation here as it pertains to Jews.
To Dr. Shoshkes review of the limited immigration facilities available to Jewish immigrants, the President replied that Chile needed technicians and farmers very badly and that it would not discriminate between Jews and non-Jews. The audience was conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
