Julio Barrenechea, vice-president of the Chilean Parliament, told a memorial meeting for Jewish war victims, last night, that the San Francisco conference should adopt an international bill of rights as part payment of the debt the world owes the Jews.
Senator Humberto Alvarez, President of the Chilean Pro-Palestine Committee, praised the Jewish contributions to the victory in Europe and said that the world owes the Jews a homeland of their own. Dr. Samuel Margoshes, American Jewish newspaperman, who is here as a representative of the World Jewish Congress, pointed out that Latin-American Jewry will have to help take the place of the millions of Jews murdered in Europe. The meeting was under the auspices of the congress.
