With a pageant of Nativity and the lighting of the Menorah taking place side by side, the University Settlement here, said to be the oldest settlement house in the country, held a Christmas-Hanukah party, jointly commemorating the birth of Christ and the battle in which Judas Maccabeus led the Jews to freedom.
Gentile and Jewish children participated in the party, at which Christmas carols and Hebrew songs were sung by all the children. Charles Cook, headworker at the settlement, presided at the party.
