Church Head Forbids Baptism of Jewish Refugee Children Without British Govt. Consent

The Archbishop of Canterbury today announsed that British elergymen who are asked to baptise Jewish refuges childron must not do so without first consulting the Home Office, which has been appointed the guardian of all such children.

Writing in an official church bulletin, he said “Clearly these children and young people should not be thus divorsed from their parental faith without consultation with the person who is “lose parentis’ to them.”
