City College celebrated its eighty-seventh anniversary with all day Charter exercises yesterday. A morning session was held in the Great Hall while a military drill was the feature of the afternoon exercises in the 102nd Engineers Armory.
President Frederick B. Robinson and Mark Eisner, chairman of the Board of Higher Education, were the principal speakers at the morning session.
In the afternoon the Student Council conducted a Charter Day exercise of its own. Norman Thomas, featured speaker, assailed the policy of celebrating a college anniversary with a military drill. He also attacked Fascism and Hitler.
THROGGS NECK LADIES TO HONOR BAR MITZVAHS
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Throggs Neck Jewish Center will honor this year’s Bar Mitzvahs at a reception following the confirmation ceremonies to be held next Sunday afternoon at 2918 Lafayette avenue, the Bronx. The program will feature Rabbi Z. Anderman, Miss Isabelle Joseph, Miss Lillian S. Port, and Mr. Sidney Cohen.
COLUMBIA COUNCIL PROGRAM STANDS FOR TEACHERS’ RIGHTS
Non-victimization of teachers “because of race, creed or sex,” or for their opinions or activities of a political, social or economic nature was one of the major points in a ten-point program issued by the Columbia Teachers’ Council.

Richard B. Moore, member of the League of Struggle for Negro Rights, speaking at a meeting of the Columbia University Social Problems Club last night on the subject “Jews in Germany and Negroes in America,” assailed the theories held in both countries which bring about subjection of minority peoples.
