The City of New York paid tribute to Bank Leumi le-Israel and its New York Branch today when Commissioner of Commerce and Industrial Development Louis Broido presented Dr. Y. Foerder, chairman of Bank Leumi, with a citation on the occasion of the bank’s 60th anniversary and the first anniversary of the establishment of the bank’s New York Branch. The presentation was made at a dinner given by Gottlieb Hammer, president, American Israeli Shipping Company, Inc., at the Sherry Netherlands Hotel in honor of Dr. Foerder who is here on a brief visit from Tel Aviv.
