Claims against Dutch banks dating from the Holocaust are small, a Dutch banking official told the Reuters news agency. Hein Blocks told the agency that there are some $193,000 in unclaimed funds, according to the interim results of a commission looking into the matter. The Scholten Commission is expected to publish its final results this summer. The World Jewish Congress recently announced that it would focus its efforts on unclaimed assets in Holland and Belgium as soon as German firms settle claims against them.
