A secret organization that is anti-Jewish, anti-Negro and opposes the present South African regime because it is "too liberal" is operating underground, according to a report in the leading Afrikaaner weekly, "Dagbreek." The group calls itself "Die Nuwe Ruiterwag" (The New Mounted Guard) and has professionals, wealthy farmers and some civil servants among its estimated 1,200 members. According to the magazine, the organization initiates new recruits with an elaborate ritual requiring the taking of an oath over a sword and wine, symbolizing blood.
