Clara Mentzel, an American citizen and a member of the American Communist Party, was arrested here yesterday by the Polish authorities after long deliberation. Investigation revealed that in her baggage were American Communist papers and Communist appeals. She was taken into custody when she met Osher Mandel, a student from Cracow, who is secretary of the Jewish Tailors Professional Union.
