Clashes, which in some instances assumed a serious form, recurred throughout the day between members of the anti-Semitic Cuzist party and Jewish groups in connection with the trial of nine Jews charged with conducting Communist activities, which opened here today.
Among the Jews accused of Communism are a young man named Feldman and a young woman, Poliah Vashcautzianu, known as Natasha, who were arrested last fall and cruelly tortured by the police. The charge against them at the time was one of conducting subversive Communist activities.
