The protest of Alfred A. Benesch, member of the Cleveland Board of Education, against the presence in the public schools of this city of Henry Ford’s book. “The International Jew,” will come before the Board at its meeting on August 13. It is probable that at that time the matter will be referred to a committee for recommendation.
In an interview with the represenative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Mr. Benesch stated that the book, which was to have been withdrawn by Mr. Ford upon his retraction of anti-Jewish charges, was probably smuggled into the schools without the knowledge and consent of any one in authority. “I know that our officias are decidedly opposed to its circulation,” he said.
