The Jewish Welfare Fund Appeal, sponsored by the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, closed its 1958 campaign with an announcement that it had raised $4,827,992, the second-largest total in the 54-year history of the community organization.
Maurice Saltzman, general chairman of the campaign, and Henry L. Zucker, director of the federation, told the closing meeting of campaign workers at the Hotel Statler that there had been 31,500 contributors to the campaign. The 1957 campaign raised a total of $5,341,900.
