More than 200 students registered this week at the newly organized Cleveland Institute of Jewish Studies. The school was organized under the auspices of the Cleveland Bureau of Jewish Education of which Rabbi Barnett R. Brickner is president.
Rabbis Abba Hillel Silver, Barnett R. Brickner, H. Davidowitz, L. Feuer, M. Rosenthal, A. Nowak, as well as A. H. Friedland, N. Brilliant, W. L. Solomon and Violet Kittner will constitute the faculty of the new school.
The curriculum will include Introduction to Jewish History, Modern Jewish Literature, Jewish Life Today, Principles of Judaism, Jewish Social Research, Jewish Music and other subjects pertaining to Jewish life. The Institute expects to be able to grant three types of diplomas to its graduates.
