The 1962 Jewish Welfare Fund Appeal closed here last night with an all-time high of $5,828,487. The total pledged exceeded by almost $400,000 the previous mark of $5,431,680 set in 1961.
The campaign was hailed by Leonard I. Abrams, general chairman, and Myron E. Glass, president of The Jewish Community Federation, which sponsors the campaign, as the greatest fund-raising achievement in 58 years of Federation history. Henry L. Zucker is executive, director of the Federation; campaign director is Gerald S. Soroker.
