Rabbi Elliot Maurice Burstein, formerly of Cleveland, has been elected spiritual leader of Congregation Montefiore, this city. The congregation has been without an officiating rabbi for some time now. The new rabbi will at once undertake the organization of a modern Hebrew school for the Jewish youth here. He will preach here for the first time during the High Holidays.
Rabbi Burstein is a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He is a member of the League of Jewish Youth, and until a short time ago was executive director and principal of the Hebrew school of the Congregation Shaar Tefile of Far Rockaway.
