The State Department made known today that British Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden and Secretary of State Dean Acheson made “very good progress” in aligning British and American views on the Middle East. The questions discussed, believed to include the Israel-Arab situation, are expected to arise at forthcoming international meetings.

Secretaries Acheson and Eden have been holding talks which they concluded today. The talks were aimed at harmonizing British and American policies in the Middle East. They were supplemental to the discussions between British Prime Minister Churchill and President Truman.
