Before leaving for Egypt, Col. William J. Donovan, President Roosevelt’s special envoy, today held a lengthy discussion of the Jewish problem and Palestine’s future with Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency for Palestine.

Shertok gave Col. Donovan greetings to President Roosevelt on behalf of the Jewish Agency and the Palestine Jewish community.

At a reception for foreign correspondents the President’s envoy said Palestine had made great progress since his last visit in 1923 and expressed the belief that the country would continue the same tempo of development.
