A new freshman dormitory was given Williams College by Herbert H. Lehman, Williams alumnus of the class of ’99, it was announced by Dr. Harry A. Garfield, president of the college. This will afford dormitory accommodations for those freshmen who have been forced to live off the campus in recent years.
Mr. Lehman, who made several other generous gifts to the college in recent years is very active in Jewish and non-sectarian philanthropic work.
Mr. Lehman is a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. In 1921 he was awarded an honorary Master of Arts degree by his alma mater.
