Colonel Kisch in Press Interview Depicts Development of Palestine

“The most remarkable process of development ever recorded in the history of a growing country has taken place in Palestine in the last four years. The Jewish population has been increased fifty per cent, the new arrivals having been absorbed into the economic system of the country without affecting the economic equilibrium declared Col-Frederick H Kisch, head of the political department of the Zionist Executive in Palestine in an interview granted to press representative at the Hotel Administrator yesterday.

“This great work of material reconstruction and sp## re## has received the God-speed of most civilized countries, and we are especially gratified as the endorsement which it has received at the hands of the Congress of the United States in the joint resolution which was adopted unanimously and signed by President Harding. I have also read with extreme pleasure”. Col Kisch states, “the various expressions of sympathy which have received as from President Coolidge. The sympathy and understanding of our work which we have found in America have been to as a ## of the greatest satisfaction and encouragement.

“I am happy to say that cooperation between the two sections of the population is to be found to almost every sphere of economic ##. and that misunderstandings which had arises from back of confidence on either side are fast disappearing. ##ship of origin between the two branches of the Semitic race is a natural factor which is stronger than political agitation. while the benefits derived by Palestine as an economic unit from the interest of Jewry in the development of that country are becoming to apparent-to advantageously apparent-to the Arabs, that the argument of legionnaire material interest, is also effectively aiding collaboration. It would be incorrect to suggest that there are among the Arabs no opponent of the development of the country by Jews-## such opponent are mainly to be found in the Emited sphere of the more or less professional politicians. while the Fellabeem or peasants who form the bulk of the population are associated in close friendship with the Jewish settlement established among them.

“While the reconstruction of Palestine is. I behave a matter of interest to all Americans, it is of course, of special interest to the great Jewish community of this country.
