Defying the action of Georgia authorities who have moved to revoke the charter of the Columbians, anti-Semitic and anti-Negro organization, the president of the group, Emery Burke, last night publicly tore the charter to shreds at a meeting here of 200 of his followers.
The organizer of the movement, Homer Loomis Jr., told the meeting that the Columbians did not need a charter any longer because they have become a political party. Voices from the audience shouted, “Send the pieces to the Jews” as Burke destroyed the document.
