In commenting on the criticism voiced by Russian Jewish Social workers on the Joint Distribution Committee’s activities in Soviet Russia, Mr. Morris Wolf, well known Jewish leader of Philadelphia, in a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency said:
“I think that the Joint Distribution Committee has done very well to make the apropriation in question. That body should consider, primarily, the physical and economic welfare of our co-religionists in Europe.
“It is not a political organization, nor do I think that if it-disapprove the religious policy of the Russian government, whatever that policy may be (and I am not at all certain that anybody is in a position to state very definitely what that policy is) it should withhold its aid from any movement which has the possibility of affording prmanent relief to the Jews in Russia, by giving them a means of attempting to make a living on the farm.
“An experiment is well worth while, and in my opinion is likely to be successful.”
