Commenting on the report that the Palestine government is planning a canton system in Palestine, the “Jewish Chronicle” suggests that the proposal merits serious consideration because it might prove to be the most desirable policy for the Jews in establishing a true nucleus for their national regeneration.
In official Zionist circles here, however, the report is not credited. No official would speak for publication on the subject but the general impression seems to be that it is undesirable because it would lead to the creation of Jewish ghettos.
