An agreement between the Joint Distribution Committee and Ozar Hatorah, providing for increased J.D.C. support to Ozar Hatorah’s religious education programs in North Africa and the dissolution of the latter’s fund-raising body, the Committee for the Forgotten Million, was announced today.

Under the terms of the agreement, J.D.C. will this year assume 60 percent of the budget of Ozar Hatorah for its religious education activities in French Morocco, which now reach 5,000 to 6,000 Jewish children. The J.D.C. will also provide supplementary food and welfare aid for Jewish students in Ozar Hatorah schools in Morocco and other areas in North Africa and the Near East. While Ozar Hatorah may continue to receive individual contributions for its overseas programs, the organization has agreed not to conduct any public fund-raising campaigns in competition with the U.J.A.
