The Zaporozhje District Soviet appointed a committee to prepare for the official opening of the new Jewish region in that district, in line with the proclamation of the government to establish there a Jewish region, similar to Kalinindorf, with New Zlatopol as the center.
Hopes for a good crop this season in the Zaporozhje and Mariupol districts, which comprise the new region, have been given up. In the Nikopol colonies the crop is expected to be good as well as in the Crimea districts. In (Continued on Page 2)
Simferopol and Dishankoy the crops will be low. No definite information has been received from the Cherson district, but it is estimated that the crops from two-thirds of the seeded fields will be satisfactory, whereas from the other third they will be low. The entire seeded fields in the Jewish colonies of Crimea and the Ukraine cover 75,000 hectares.
