The Council of the League of Nations today had been asked by the Committee of Jewish Delegations to “apply its traditional principles” and recommend that clauses against discrimination toward the Jews in the Saar for a one-year period be made permanent.
The committee pointed out that the one-year proviso left the 5,000 Jews in the Saar in a dangerous position. It asked that minority rights be safeguarded.
