A national committee which set itself the aim of securing financial support for the Yeshivas, institutions for training rabbis. was formed here by a group of Orthodox Jews. The committee has included in its list 18 large Yeshivas and 38 small ones. It was declared that this step was necessary as the American Central Relief Committee, which hitherto furnished support for these institutions, is discontinuing the transmission of funds.
Representatives of the Jewish press in Poland, including the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, yesterday viewed the new structure for the Great Yeshiva now being erected in Lublin. The inspection was arranged by Rabbi Schapiro of Piotrkow, former member of the Polish Sejm, who recently visited the United States in the interests of the Lublin Yeshiva fund.
