The Rabbinical Alliance of America, an Orthodox group, has complained to Gov. Rockefeller of the “conspicuous absence” of a Jew on the State Human Rights Review Board. In a letter signed by Rabbi Bernard Weinberger, its president, the rabbinical group noted that “Jews constitute a large segment of the minority groups who often have serious problems in having their rights preserved.” The letter asserted that “it would be in keeping with your enviable record of serving all groups that you fill the one remaining vacancy on the board with a representative of the Jewish community.”
