Col. Josef Beck, Polish Foreign Minister who has been conferring with British Foreign Minister Anthony Eden, declared in a press interview today that the Jewish problem is a serious social question for Poland because the Jews are concentrated in commerce.

Col. Beck voiced his Government’s sympathy for Jewish aspirations in Palestine. He did not reveal whether Palestine had been discussed in the conversations with Capt. Eden.

Poland has asked League of Nations aid in furthering a project to expatriate 800,000 Polish Jews in ten years. Col. Beck was expected to discuss the project with Capt. Eden with a view of obtaining England’s cooperation as far as Palestine is concerned.
