President Roosevelt’s outspoken condemnation of Nazi persecution is cited as a factor in the increase in his popularity in most sections of the United States during the past month, according to a survey by the American institute of Public Opinion. Dr. George Gallup, director of the institute, reports that the President has 55.5 per cent of the major party vote, compared with 54.4 on the eve of the elections.
