With Minister of Labor Rystor present and Governor Woyevoda as a chairman a conference of industrialists, representatives of the professional unions, religious heads of the municipalities and the kehillahs was held here. Minister Rystor suggested the establishment of an emergency committee to support the unemployed for which the government is willing to grant a million zlotys.
The delegate from the professional unions, Milman, described in sharp terms the deplorable situation of the Jewish workers who are suffering doubly through the boycott and the crisis, and expressing little hope for the achievements of the emergency committee because the bourgeoisie would avoid financial support.
This last remark caused a considerable row among the industrialists, compelling the chairman to withdraw Milman’s right to speak.
