The national conference of the British Labor Zionist Movement, which was attended by some 200 delegates representing 30 branches of the Poale Zion, Young Poale Zion and Pioneer women, adopted a resolution "noting with satisfaction" the decline of anti-Semitism in Britain during the past year.
The group also protested the persecution of Iraqi Jews and asked the British Government, in conjunction with other powers, to intervene in their behalf at Bagdad. Other resolutions expressed confidence in the Mapai’s governmental leadership in Israel, condemned the release of Nazi war criminals in Germany, opposed German rearmament and supported Israel’s claims upon Germany for reparations. The annual conference welcomed the adoption of the U.N. Convention against Genocide and asked the British Government to ratify it.
