Four clergymen, including the Rev. Dr. Julius Mark, senior rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, were the recipients here tonight of the first annual Religious Leaders Dinner award given by the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
The others who received the awards were Francis Cardinal Spellman; the Rt. Rev. Horace W.B. Donegan, Episcopal bishop of New York; and Archbishop Iakovos, primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of North and South America. The occasion marked the first time in ecumenical history that New York’s ranking religious leaders will share honors on the same dais.
