Orthodox rabbis from six European countries, including Britain and France, met here today to begin discussions of ways and means of reinforcing Jewish religious education in Europe, and efforts to bring European Jewish youth closer to fundamental Jewish concepts.
The opening meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Grand Rabbi Jacob Kaplan of Paris, was attended by Dr. Israel Brodie, Chief Rabbi of Great Britain and rabbis of other Western countries, as well as Rumania’s Chief Rabbi David M. Rosen, who is currently in Paris after having attended the opening of the Warsaw Ghetto exhibition. Rabbis from other East European countries were invited, but none arrived.
