Conflicting news from the desert regarding the destination of the remnant of Feisal Darwish’s army, which was supposedly encamped near Nedj, on the Iraq frontier, after Ibn Saud’s successful operations against the rebel force, continues to be reported. Previous reports said that Iraq would not grant the rebels a sanctuary while a telegram from Cairo yesterday declared that Iraq troops had permitted them to cross the frontier and elicited a firm note from Ibn Saud demanding their extradition. In the meantime the rebels are awaiting a reply to their request for a permit to enter Syrian territory. Seventy Druse refugees, fugitives from French Syria, have been ordered to leave Transjordan territory, says a telegram from Amman, giving the recent hold-up of automobiles by roving Druses as the reason.
