Two Israelis, who were taken prisoner by rebel forces in the Congo, will be freed, it was announced today by a spokesman for the Israel Foreign Ministry who said that the two were not connected with the operations of any official Israeli Government or commercial agency.
It is understood that the Foreign Ministry sought the assistance of the Government of Burundi where the Congolese rebels are represented. Israel also enlisted the aid of a Belgian advisor to Burundi’s King who was here attending the conference of Agudat Israel.
