Congress Moves to Honor Salk for Polio Conquest

Rep. Brent Spence, chairman of the House Banking and Currency Committee, indicated today that a joint resolution to present a suitable medal of honor to Dr. Jonas Salk, Jewish doctor who developed poliomyelitis vaccine, would receive early and favorable action. The Salk resolution was introduced by Rep. Steven B. Derounian of New York.
