Congressional Medal Proposed in House for Dr. Einstein

The name of the late Dr Albert Einstein has been advanced in the House today as a recipient of a Congressional medal proposed for distinguished civilian achievement. Dr Jonas Salk discoverer of the polio vaccine, was named as the first to receive to proposed new ### nor.

Frank Thompson Jr. New Jersey Democrat introduced the Administration’s proposal in the House at the Thompson Bill which advances Dr. Einstein’s name and provides for presentation of the award posthumously. The ###eau of the Budget as endorsed the Thompson Bill and urges its early consideration Previously Rep. Thompson had requested that a stamp commemorating Dr. Einstein be printed. But the Postmaster General said that an excess of commemoratives prevented it.
