A dispute over a library of rare and priceless books whose value has been set for legal purposes at $80,000 is now before the Superior Court of Connecticut here. The issue involves the library of the late renowned Jewish scholar Prof. Abraham S. Yahuda.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which claims the library, says it has documentary proof that Prof Yahuda’s widow planned to transfer the library from New Haven to the University in Jerusalem but died before she was able to do so. Three of four executors of the estate dispute this and insist that the library must be counted as part of the estate.

One of the trustees insists that the books be sold and the proceeds be used to build a wing at the Hebrew University in memory of Prof. Yahuda.
